The visiting Moutaineers of Eastern Oregon University defeated the Geoducks 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 26-13) Friday evening at the CRC Gymnasium on the campus of The Evergreen State College. Following a close first set, the Geoducks rallied from a seven point deficit to push the second set into extra points, but couldn’t overcome the varied Mountaineer attack. Set three belonged entirely to Eastern Oregon as they outhit Evergreen State .220 to -.026 to claim the victory. For the Geoducks, Caitlin Swift (Senior/Seattle, WA) hit .353 for the match, contributing eight kills on 17 swings. Defensively, Chantal Petkus (Junior/Richland, WA) led the Geoducks with a match-high 15 digs. For the Mountaineers, Irene Walters and Taylor Stewart each had 10 kills on the night.

Upcoming Events

The Geoducks return to action in the CRC Gymnasium on Saturday night, taking on the 17th-ranked Coyotes from the College of Idaho. The match is slated to begin at 7pm.
