smileSean Williams teaches ethnomusicology, Irish Studies, and Asian Studies at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, where she has taught since 1991. She is teaching “Foundations of the Performing Arts: Performing Stories” (with Rose Jang) in fall/winter of 2017-2018, and “Slavic and Celtic Folklore” (with Pat Krafcik) in spring of 2018. Sean’s book projects include Musics of the World (a textbook with Oxford University Press for lower-division college students) and The Performance of Liminality: Sacred, Alluring, and Dangerous (a monograph). She also has a Facebook alter ego named Captain Grammar Pants with over 52,000 followers.
