What is the relationship between human, machine, and animal in terms of cyberfeminism?
This image is a created based on Donna Haraways Cyborg Manifesto. The connection of animal to human to machine- natural/non-natural, work to create a kind of self portrait, as my project itself is a form of self-portraiture.
As I extend myself into future, upload download manipulate and reproduce, I look to the past. I grew up in Arizona, the desert, on disputed land, on stolen land. A photograph from the Archived west, white men-Troop C, 5th Calvary to be exact, who arrested boomers and squatters prior to opening of Oklahoma, no mention of the role of the black woman- or of course the cyborg and white woman from 2014.

You’re project is bizarre, in the best way possible. Looking at the images you’ve presented to re-present yourself is really strange in its own way. Your usage of the word “Cyborg” makes me reconsider the word entirely, as I’ve always seen it in the heavily science-fiction sense. Yet here, it means something different. It’s strange and wonderful. Also, I enjoyed the “Recreating the 3D woman” shot. It’s so interesting to consider the difference it presents.
I’m really intrigued by the idea of moving into a digital plane as a reaction to your projections of the future. Looking into the past to do this is really powerful, especially with the history of genocide being necessary for your (and a lot of people in this room’s) existence.
Do you feel like partially transplanting yourself (or a part of yourself) to a virtual realm changes your interactions with these histories?
I’m also really interested in the feminist ideas in this work, and would love to hear more about them.
I really enjoyed exploring your project through images. I feel like you’re very savvy with pictures and media and were able to create something visually pleasing. There’s something visceral and creative behind your work. It’s inspiring and thought provoking. The video you included gave so much more to the presentation of your exploration.
Whoa! I loved your images. The longer exposure photography was super cool to me. Your project is far out there in the further reaches of the imagination and I love that your are integrating imagination and the the material world through this personal myth of your own universe. Great Job!
