SALEM, Ore. – Senior Anastasia Daniels (Olympia, Wash./South Puget Sound CC) scored twice but the Corban Warriors scored four times as the Evergreen Geoducks fell, 4-2, in a Cascade Conference women’s soccer match on Monday afternoon in Salem, Ore.

Daniels got the Geoducks (2-5-1, 0-2-0 CCC) on the scoreboard first, beating Corban (6-4-0, 1-1-0 CCC) starting keeper Kaitlyn Mendenhall one-on-one in the 11th minute before striking the ball into the lower left corner for the 1-0 lead.  The Warriors evened things up in the 31st minute after Emily Boudreau fed in a cross to the feet of Emily Tsugawa, who one-timed it past Evergreen keeper Lauren Davidson (Seattle, Wash./North Seattle CC) for her fifth goal of the season.

Corban took the lead just a few minutes before halftime when Sydney Dreves took a free kick and Audrey Sullivan got a head on it from about eight yards out for the 2-1 lead in the 40th minute.

Daniels scored her second goal of the afternoon to tie the game at 2-2 in the 67th minute with another one-on-one battle with the keeper, this time putting it past Alexis Beattie, who took over goalkeeper duties for Corban in the second half.

The celebration was short lived as Evergreen head coach Adam Fenster was shown a red card just 33 seconds later and 40 seconds later, Corban scored to make it 3-2, this time on a goal by Tera McDonough that was assisted by Brittany Bowman.  Sullivan scored an insurance goal a few minutes later, scoring her second of the afternoon on a give-and-go from Tsugawa in the 72nd minute as the Warriors picked up the 4-2 win.

Corban outshot Evergreen 20-12 on the afternoon, as well as holding a 4-3 advantage on corner kicks.  Davidson finished with five saves on the afternoon while Mendenhall and Beattie each picked up three saves in their 45 minutes each.

The Geoducks return home on Saturday afternoon when they play in-state rival Northwest in the first game of a men/women’s doubleheader with the Eagles.  First kick with NU is set for 1:00 p.m. on Evergreen Pitch in Olympia, Wash.
