Interview with Ed Bernhardt
Ed Bernhardt was my teacher during the tropical medicinal plant course at the New Dawn Educational Center in Costa Rica. He has been been working in the field of naturopathy and sustainable living for over 40 years. Here he shares his views on the benefits of personally and locally grown food, capitalism’s effect on food production and human taste, anthropocene and ways to change to more sustainable specie in the context of health. He finished the interview with sharing an expressive description of his favorite from of Costa Rica, the Jabuticaba, a strange plum that is native to Brazil. Unfortunately I was not there when it is in season, which is May and June, but will return to taste this incredible fruit!
