PORTLAND, Ore.  – Senior Karissa Carlson (Pateros, Wash./Pateros HS) took advantage of a small field, dominating on her way to victory at the Warner Pacific Invitational on Saturday morning at Lents Park in Portland, Ore.

Carlson completed the 5000m course in 19:09.55, finishing nearly 22 seconds ahead of second place Courtney Welling of Corban College.  Olivia Zook took 20th for the Geoducks with a time of 22:33.81 while Britta Peterson (Port Orchard, Wash./South Kitsap HS) finished 22nd with a time of 23:19.00.  Allison Schneider rounded out the Geoduck women, taking 26th with a time of 25:49.78.  Corban took the team title with a score of 25.

On the men’s side, Evergreen was paced by a 15th-place finish from Alex Messman (Lacey, Wash./River Ridge HS), who finished the 8600m course in a time of 30:45.21.  Aaron Jones (San Bruno, Calif./Capuchino HS) was 20th with a time of 31:25.45.  Sean LaBelle (Bainbridge Island, Wash./Bainridge HS) was just behind in 21st place with a time of 31:39.40.  John Barker was fourth across the line for the Geoducks in a time of 31:49.36 while freshman Les Jones (Tacoma, Wash./Mt. Tahoma HS) was 25th overall with a time of 31:56.18.

The Geoducks will next be in  action on Saturday when they head back down to Oregon to run in the Beaver Classic, hosted by Oregon State University.
