winter retreat

Agenda –
our agenda is to strengthen the learning community, learn something together, and have fun. Day long attendance is a required program activity.
activities –
breaking bread, NVC exercises, photo studio, spring internships and reading list workshop, contemplative practice, and more
potluck for breakfast/brunch at 10am and a late lunch at some point in the afternoon, so plan on bringing something to eat or drink. We will have access to a large kitchen, so no need to bring disposable flatware or dishes.
transportation –
students are responsible for their own transportation. carpool from campus, drive your own car (there is plenty of parking), or take the bus.
alternative to attendance –
Anyone who misses part or all of the retreat – for any reason – will be required to complete a six page original research paper. The paper must discuss the current contemplative learning movement in higher education.
To be accepted, the paper must be based on a minimum of six separate sources, at least half of which are peer reviewed scholarly articles. The paper must introduce, summarize, and analyze the sources fully in the student’s own words.
