ATM Locations

Kesly and Chelsea met with John Hurley about the ATM locations. John is in agreement with the switch because of the cost. At this point John has not reviewed the contracts and said the next step to take is to write an official statement. Nate wrote and read a statement he wrote. Nate motioned to pass, Willy seconds. Motion Passed.

EF Program

Kelsy met with the director of the EF Program and she was receptive, happy we are interested and was willing to meeting again. Chelsea, Kelsy, Mary Lou, and Willy are a team to talk in two weeks about details and speak to misconceptions that Evergreen/EF program might have.

Tacoma Meeting

Willy reserved a room and he wants to encourage 2 meetings per quarter and apply for more in the traveling budget to do so. The meeting on Tacomacampus is planned for January 18th 2012:  week 2 2pm-4pm Room 104.

Committee’s

4 people were appointed on Friday. All applicants were appointed to at least one or 2 committees they applied for.  The GSU needs to put up a new (modified to new need of students in committees) online and paper advertisement. There will be possible interviews the week after Thanksgiving Break.

Meeting Minutes

Nate motioned to pass last weeks meeting minutes, Willy seconds. Kent abstained. Motion Passed.

WSA Legislative Intern

Andrew contacted Mahmoud Hammad and Mahmoud said that he wasn’t able to find anyone to be a lobbyist. He did say that he would be willing to train one if we did appoint one.

Elections:

There has been confusion on the class standing, how to vote and how many people you can vote for on the ballot. Chelsea talked to Kaye about these issues.

Losing people

The GSU wants to create a new and welcoming environment to new elected members of the GSU. The GSU discussed possibly providing new student orientation for new members and a semi-retreat.  For the first meeting of winter quarter/new members first meeting the GSU decided to have pot luck to encourage having students to come create a goal with the next new students on January 11, 2012. If this seems to be a positive thing for the GSU, there would be the possibility of doing a pot luck at the beginning of every month to encourage students to attend and voice their concerns.
