Taco Truck
Sharon Goodman supports idea of a taco truck as a late night option, willing to advocate for progress; will be written into RFP as best as possible
Create a test run –> Need to communicate to the owner of the taco truck, create campus event, Drew and Paige volunteered to help promote the test run to yield a large turnout
Oshen voiced concern about significance for off-campus students, advocated for late night café or other hang-out instead
Jonathan volunteered to seek out other vendor options

Smoking Ban
Significant health concerns from student body, several students feeling threatened
Lower campus: RAD have made it clear that enforcement is not a priority–> Resolution to collaborate with GO and Sharon Goodman (about RAs and RDs)
Upper campus: Out of RAD’s jurisdiction and police can only enforce when within 25 feet of building–> Idea that faculty personally enforces upper campus
Agreed on GSU official position: Campus-wide blanket ban is a bad idea, but in favor of moving smoking locations away from high-traffic areas (approved, 15-0)

Season will run from now until a week after Thanksgiving break

GSU Website:

GSU needs to change the website to make it more accessible to the student body.

Ideas for Website:

·         Public Comment Box

·         Connect to Facebook page

·         Create Sponsored Ad

·         Describe more clearly what we do and who we are

·         Post Committees onto website

·         Put link onto the evergreen.edu page

Mural Policy:

Two members from Dirty Hands asked for the GSU to endorse the mural policy on campus. The Mural would most likely be on plywood attached to the building and there will be a process for the artist to be chosen. The artist will create their work onto the plywood and eventually other artists will be chosen and it will be replaced. The GSU wrote and approved their endorsement and gave it to Dirty Hands. Donald motioned to approve the policy. Paige seconds it.

Election Commissioners:

Two students have applied for the Election Commissioner position. The GSU Office Manager will contact the two students and see if they still want the position and the GSU will hire them.

Intramural Sports:

The GSU has made a big push to create an Intramural Sports program at Evergreen. The GSU surveyed freshman on campus and saw a large interest in intramural sports.

Possible Intramural Sports:

·         Soccer

·         Capture the Flag

·         Flag Football

·         Ultimate Frisbee

·         Volleyball – highest interest

·         Dodge ball

Currently the GSU is waiting for Wendy to provide the complete data from the intramural sports and present it to the GSU to make further decisions about which sports should be implemented.

Student Activities:

The GSU and the S&A will have a pizza party to set up a community who can work together to better the campus with separate budgets. The GSU is interested in having TED talks on campus in which people from the community can come to campus and speak on a topic they are passionate about. Also the possibility of a dance, pep rally for basketball, spirit week and a scavenger hunt.
