    1. We begin our time together today by acknowledging the indigenous people of the Medicine Creek Treaty, whose land on which the college stands. We acknowledge the Squaxin people who are the traditional custodians of this land and pay respect to elders past and present of the Squaxin Island Tribe.

    1. “I, Michael Britton, move to strike from Bylaws section two ‘Roles and responsibilities- speaker”. And replace with Speaker

Description: The Speaker is the chief representative of the GSU to the Evergreen State administration and appropriate stakeholder groups. They are to serve as an elected official that represents the whole of the student body and permanent chair of the communication committee

  1. Roles and Responsibilities
  2. Create a GSU Bi-Quarterly Report, in the form of a document or speech, on the milestones of the union and plans for the future. The speaker should work with the Historian to accurately represent these milestones. This should be made available to students on weeks 3 and 7.
  3. Hold regular meetings with the President, Vice President of Student Affairs, Director of Student Activities, Director of Residential Life, and all relevant campus officers to establish common goals and communicate the wishes of the GSU and student body at-large.

And replace with the following:

  1. Communication Subcommittee

The intention of this subcommittee is to facilitate smooth communication to and between all parts of TESC and the GSU, and to insure that GSU representatives are informed enough to represent the student body faithfully.

  1. Responsibilities

Serve as the primary outreach surrogate of the GSU, promoting initiatives and engaging students.

Coordinate with groups that have a multimedia focus (ex: Cooper Point Journal, KAOS, Green Screens, and C-Cam) to keep students informed on GSU events and issues important to students.
