You get can do all of this while getting paid and receiving 16 credits.

The student will learn how to work with Legislators – scheduling meetings, preparing for meetings, meeting formalities (and informalities), and following up after meetings. It’s important to the work done with the organization that the student understand not only the basics but also the nuances of Washington’s Legislative process (policy development and budget writing).

The student will draft weekly memos on lobbying activities and bill movement. This will let the student track the progress of bills which effect the organization they are involved with. In addition, they will also participate in daily meetings with legislators and policy staff which will give the student a chance to experience direct participation in the relationship between the organization and the student.
