Making Music with Tennis Data
Research Project – Les Paul
I had more fun than a mean kid at church camp doing this research. I’d always admired him and have almost always owned one of his guitars. He turned out to be a lot more awesome than I’d suspected.

The Drop-in Mix Project
Love Otis Redding… love Dock of the Bay. Every time I hear it, I sing these back up vocals so it was perfect for this project.
I used a TS-2 and recorded a total of six tracks (three parts, two takes each) which got bounced to three tracks total. Moderate to heavy compression (about 10:1) with a reverb (small hall). I also had to pitch correct some of the vocals.
If I had it to do over again (and I may during break) I’d probably try to set them back in the mix a bit more.

Drop-In Assignment
Abbi and I worked on out drop-in assignment after class the other day. After listening to a few songs we decided to go with a track by Lykke Li. I had never heard of her, but I enjoyed the song. The process was fun. Abbi put down a drum track, which was off beat, but I didn’t want to hurt her feelings. I probably should’ve mentioned it, though. I put down an acoustic guitar track and a bass track. It turned out pretty OK.
Getting the Hang of Things
I’m finally getting the hang of word press and have just added all my session notes! I feel much more confident in my recording abilities as well. Yippe!
