Responsible for working with the Operations, Finance and Capital Projects divisions and participating in the decision-making process to help ensure that transportation services, fare structure, and the location of facilities and related infra-structure to support such services, are made available to and are equitably distributed without regard to race color, national origin, or socioeconomic circumstance.
Monitor transit services provided by the District to ensure that the level and quality of such services are sufficient to provide equal access and mobility for any person without regard to race, color, national origin, or socioeconomic circumstance. Responsible for development and implementation of DBE programs and reporting requirements. Ensure a commitment to safety through effective leadership, role modeling and implementing practices that demonstrate safety is a fundamental value and a priority in all aspects of work. Perform related duties as required.

Position Requirements:
–Bachelor’s degree in business administration, government management, construction management or related field.
–Five years management experience in program coordination between community groups and governmental agencies for construction projects or contracts. Experience with managing government procurement, community outreach programs, the construction trades, and minority and women-owned businesses programs desired.
–Or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Selection Criteria (partial list):
1. Knowledge of the construction industry and trade unions, their practices and training programs.
2. Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, rules and regulations that govern public procurement of goods and services, including minority business programs.
3. Knowledge of procurement and contract issues affecting public corporations, contractors, customers and constituents, including competitive bid construction contracts.
4. Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
