The Lents International Farmers’ Market is seeking a part-time, temporary (contract) Token Coordinator to operate the EBT/Debit machine and coordinate the Healthy Rewards matching program during the 2011 market season.

The goal of the Lents International Farmers’ Market (LIFM) is to improve access to locally grown, culturally appropriate, healthful foods for the residents of Portland’s Lents neighborhood and surrounding area.

To better meet the needs of low-income shoppers at the market, the market accepts Oregon Trail (SNAP) cards at the market, as well as Debit cards. The market also offers the Healthy Rewards program, which provides a dollar-for-dollar match up to $5 dollars for SNAP (food stamp) dollars spent at the market.

Qualifications (partial list):
• Must be able to attend every market on Sundays from June 5 – October 16, 2011 from 9:00a.m. to 2:00p.m.

Desirables:
• Bilingual (especially Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese or Chinese)

Compensation:
$10/hr – 5 hours/week for 20 week market season
