The Mountaineers is seeking an energetic and hardworking finance and operations professional, who is passionately committed to the mission of promoting outdoor education, conservation and recreation in the Pacific Northwest.

The Mountaineers enjoys an outstanding reputation in its field and in the community and has ten thousand members. Our dedicated staff, members and volunteers are deeply committed to successfully accomplishing our mission. The Mountaineers is seeking to transform our organization in next few years. The Director of Finance and Operations will have the opportunity to lead the organization in its turnaround by streamlining existing processes and helping to identify and build alternative revenue streams. Further, on April 1, 2011, The Mountaineers transitioned from a 501(c)(4) to a 501(c)(3) non-profit and this role will assist the organization in establishing new fundraising accounting and reporting functions. The ideal candidate must be able to strategist, prioritize, manage and also implement in an entrepreneurial and resource constrained environment.

The Director of Finance and Operations reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for the financial management of the organization including finance, accounting, budgeting, insurance and risk management. Additionally, the Director of Finance and Operations oversees all aspects of human resource management, internal information technology, facilities and works with the Executive Director on operational planning and financial reporting. As a member of the leadership team, the Director of Finance and Operations will be involved in a range of strategic planning and internal initiatives.
The Director will supervise and mentor the Facilities and Events Manager in day to day administrative activities. Additionally, the Director will work across departments to build, implement and maintain systems to ensure strong controls and smooth business operations.
