Communications Manager, Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA)

Description:
The Communications Manager is responsible for meeting key department objectives in support of NEEA’s strategic and business plan goals, with a specific focus on funder and executive communications at the corporate level. This individual will serve as the key point of contact for information and communications related to NEEA’s business results.

Duties:
•Manage communications of all of NEEA business results and accomplishments using a systematic approach, adhering to NEEA brand and communications guidelines
•Manage the end-to-end production and project management of NEEA’s highly visible NEEA Quarterly Performance Report to NEEA Board and funders, as well as NEEA’s Annual Report, on time and on budget.
•Responsible for all individual value-delivery funder report development and distribution
•Managing overall external reporting calendar for NEEA to ensure standardization, efficiency, and transparency
•Responsible for NEEA’s Executive Communications function, including management of the process, development, and messaging of the NEEA Executive Director’s speeches, talking points, and corporate slides decks to support NEEA speaking engagements on time and on budget.
•Establish and implement NEEA aMW savings communications plan and policies, working closely with Planning and Executive team
•Serve as business owner of NEEA’s Contact Management System (NCS), including ensuring data quality, cost-effectiveness, and training NEEA staff and contractors.

Qualifications:
•BA or BS degree in marketing/communications or related field required, or comparable industry experience. Masters degree in a related field desired.
•A minimum of seven years in marketing, public relations and/or communications required.
•Experience with communications in a customer and/or client services environment required.
•An equivalent combination of educations, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Customer Service Skills: Works closely with all areas and levels of the organization, including the NEEA Board of Directors and key internal and external stakeholders (including electric utilities, state and federal agencies, the Bonneville Power Administration, trade allies, and trade associations) to achieve success.
•Communication Skills: Speaks and writes clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations with ability to gain buy-in from others. Listens and gets clarification. Responds well to questions. Demonstrates group presentation skills. Skilled in executive speechwriting as well as other corporate communications writing. Manages collateral development processes from strategy to production.
•Project Management Abilities: Develops project plans, coordinates projects and communicates changes and progress. Manages project activities including managing agencies and contractors. Skilled in record tracking and library management.
•Business Acumen Knowledge: Understands energy, utility, and/or energy efficiency industries and the implications of decisions and messaging. Aligns work with strategic goals. Ability to quickly comprehend NEEA’s portfolio of energy efficiency activities and their relevance to stakeholders. High degree of adaptability and the ability to help define/refine the position in order to achieve desired outcomes.
•Computer Abilities: Skilled at managing customer databases, contacts, and other business systems. high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio. Skilled making process flow charts and generating graphs from Excel.
