Description: Develop and implement a strategic annual fundraising plan, in coordination with the Executive Director and of the Development Committee of the Board.  Secure the resources to support Seattle Audubon’s general operating fund.

Responsibilities include developing and managing Seattle Audubon’s fundraising strategy and the Member Relations program budget.  The position works closely with, and provides leadership to, Seattle Audubon’s Development Committee, while strengthening the fundraising skills of the board, staff, and volunteers.  Supervise Development Associate and the Volunteer Coordinator.  Specific fundraising activities include membership recruitment and retention, major donor cultivation and solicitation, grant writing (foundation, government, & corporate), and event management.

The ideal candidate will have proven, non-profit experience and fundraising success, and will bring creative thinking and strategic planning skills to build a strong, diverse fundraising base.  We are looking for candidates with the capacity to grow the organization’s development program.  Candidates must have a minimum three years non-profit fundraising experience, preferably at a leadership level as well as a knowledge of and commitment to environmental protection and the mission of Seattle Audubon.
