The Northwest EcoBuilding Guild – South Sound Chapter is looking for YOU to get involved!  We are seeking focused, serious students for volunteer and internship opportunities during Winter and Spring Qs 2012 to help advance our Mission:

Leadership through Education to Transform the Built Environment

Learn about:

Passive House  |  Permaculture  |  Greening the Codes  |  Discovering the Commons

 

At Present, we have numerous opportunities for internships and other work with our Chapter.  These include:

 

  • Greening the Codes:  Thurston Code Innovations Research Assistants – Write and document case studies of successfully permitted green building innovations as part of a database to share information between code officials and builders.
  • Sustainable Design Symposia Series Intern– Quarterly Series of professional symposia and trainings for elected officials, municipal staff & code officials, construction industry leaders, students and others
  • South Sound Green Tour Volunteers and Interns – The 3rd Annual South Sound Green Tour is April 21 & 22, 2012 – Earth Day.  Help Organize one of our major annual events, several positions available:
    • Social Media Intern & Marketing Intern
    • Tour Sites Liaison
    • Web Developer / blogger
    • Photographer / Videographer
    • Sustainable Transportation Coordinator
    • The Commons Project Volunteers & Interns – Get involved in this groundbreaking demonstration project downtown behind the library.  A variety of opportunities:
      • Volunteer Site Host / Tour Guide (weekly volunteer shift)
      • Business Plan Developer / Entrepreneur
      • Coordinate “The Commons” Reading / Study Group

We are also open to internships and projects along these lines which may not fit neatly into one of the stated positions.
