Title of Position: Public Education and Outreach Manager

Description:
Waste Management seeks an articulate, organized and experienced leader with a passion for the environment and sustainability to manage the Public Education & Outreach (PE&O) group.  The PE&O team is responsible for fulfilling contractual outreach commitments as well as developing and executing initiatives to further Waste Management’s sustainability goals.  The PE&O team develops, and delivers, educational programming and collateral to a variety of constituents in the marketplace.

 

Successful candidate will be:

Articulate and comfortable in a variety of public settings Strong verbal and written skills are required Well-developed organizational skills An experienced manager Essential duties:

Working collaboratively with internal and external resources Managing the Collateral Coordinator and Recycling Coordinator positions (direct reports) Establishing and maintaining strategic community partnerships Overseeing education and community outreach activities such as (but not limited to) print, electronic media and direct mail campaigns Maintaining Pacific Northwest website (WMNorthwest.com) Partnering with leadership to develop growth and retention strategies Creating and maintaining an environment of accountability Cultivating and improving community partnerships Implementing outreach programs for new contracts Some weekend and evening event work

Required:  four-year college degree
