These positions will provide new information on the distribution of the Point Arena mountain beaver (Aplodontia rufa nigra), a federally-listed endangered species. Aides will assist in locating and surveying ground transects to determine the presence of mountain beaver burrows, and with placement of hair snares to collect genetic samples. Applicants must be in excellent physical condition, as most of the work will occur in the field, under all weather and terrain conditions, and often off-trail.
