Title: Human Resources Program Manager
Classification: Regular, Exempt
Summary
The human resources program manager will be responsible for managing the 501 Commons Human Resources Program, which will provide services on a short-term and ongoing basis to contracted nonprofits. Program services include policy development and review, employee handbooks, recruitment, performance management, and benefit management.
The program manager will also assist the administrative director with aspects of human resources management within 501 Commons.
Human Resources Program Manager Duties
- Conduct intake interviews with clients and create contracts for ongoing services or scopes of work for consulting contracts.
- Maintain client records in the 501 Commons Salesforce database.
- Curate program materials and resources so that resources, tools and services are based in best practices and are appropriately designed for the size of organization.
- Manage projects using service corps members providing HR support to nonprofits.
- Maintain and analyze evaluation data about program outcomes.
- Ensure that the program achieves and maintains targeted levels of profitability.
- Market and promote HR services to potential clients.
- Provide HR services to clients.
- Supervise HR program associates.
Internal Administration Duties
- Work with administrative director to ensure effectiveness of human resource systems, processes, and policies in support of the organization’s mission.
- As needed, assist in recruitment and hiring to attract and hire talented employees.
- Negotiate and administer benefit plans; manage unemployment and disability claims.
- Review compensation system annually.
- Assist the administrative director as needed in coaching employees to resolve any performance or employee relations issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field and 5+ years experience as a human resources professional.
- PHR certification required; SPHR preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HR competencies: recruitment, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, professional development, management coaching and risk management.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment and law and ability to set and follow precedent.
- Highly motivated individual with demonstrated ability to coach, lead, and inspire staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Success in supervising others.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- High level of technology skills, including MS Office. Willingness to master 501 Commons technology tools including Egnyte, Salesforce, Survey Monkey, Vertical Response, and Basecamp.
