RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the Sustainability in Prisons Project (SPP) mission to “bring science and nature into prisons. We conduct ecological research and conserve biodiversity by forging collaborations with scientists, inmates, prison staff, students, and community partners. Equally important, we help reduce the environmental, economic, and human costs of prisons by inspiring and informing sustainable practices”.

Website/Media Intern

• add new content, update, and maintain SPP website
• catalog media coverage on SPP server
• establish Vimeo site to archive media coverage and other video content
• manage and organize image files
• update SPP press packets, hard copies of media files, and create electronic press packets
• transfer video content to DVD format
• update and create protocols
• train SPP staff on website and video procedures using developed protocols
• obtain media files
• assist with data entry as needed

Reporting & Accountability

• provide weekly updates through staff and supervisor meetings
• assist as needed with other SPP projects and developmental goals

Opportunities

• work in a collaborative, engaged community of scientists, researchers, faculty, staff and fellow students
• train others to maintain website and video content
• provide valuable contributions to SPP programs
