DUTIES:
This position is responsible for assisting with nature day camp programs, which includes planning and teaching lessons in a fun and engaging manner; ensuring safety; being actively involved with children; working cooperatively with staff and teen volunteers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least one year of college course work in natural sciences, outdoor or environmental education, art education or related field or at least two years of working with children ages 4 -12
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
- Must have leadership skills with ability to be a team player
- Must be creative, energetic and patient
- Enjoy the natural world and working in an outdoor environment
- Current valid First-Aid and CPR cards required
LICENSE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Employment is subject to a national or Washington State Patrol background inquiry pursuant to RCW 43.43.832
- Job applicants must be able to prove authorization to work in the United States at the time of a job offer as required by the 1986 Federal Immigration Reform and Control Act. Documentation establishing authorization to work may include a Social Security Card, picture ID and/or other approved documentation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Seeing to prepare written or hand-produced program material and reports, and monitor activities. Hearing and speaking to conduct classes and exchange information.
