The Assistant Teacher will assist with the teaching of awareness, understanding, appreciation, and a sense of stewardship for the natural world, through science-based environmental education programs in order to expand the Pacific Science Center’s role as a driving force for science education and to significantly enhance the guests’ experience. Specific responsibilities will include: supporting the teaching of summer camps, pre-camp, and other programs as assigned including teaching the themes and objectives of each program; leading and planning games and activities as needed; communicating in a clear manner with all participants (adults and children); and assisting in the general administration of week-long camp including overseeing sign-in and check-out of campers, daily set up and clean up of program materials, and reporting any program or maintenance needs.
