The Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) is seeking an AmeriCorps Individual Placement (IP) who will serve as a Restoration Specialist working in conjunction with the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parksbased in Seattle, WA. This is an AmeriCorps program, which emphasizes community service. The Restoration Specialist receives minimum wage, basic medical benefits, and earns the $5,550 AmeriCorps educational award. The position requires a one year commitment. Applicants must be 18-25 years old at the time of hire.
The IP will work with King County’s WCC program staff and with county ecologists, engineers and project managers on the design and implementation of habitat enhancement projects. KC manages 4 WCC crews and over 100 projects annually. The IP works primarily on the coordination of WCC field projects and also supports KC technical staff with a variety of tasks based on their skills and KC needs.
