Deadline: May 1, 2012
The Olden Lab is looking for a field technician to assist with a University of Washington project investigating the food web ecology of lakes in western Washington State, with a focus on the effects of non-native species and urban development. The hired technician will be assisting a MS student in the field and will be a part of the Freshwater Ecology and Conservation Lab of Julian Olden. Field work will occur in urban and rural lakes in the Puget Sound lowlands of Washington State, and will involve fish, aquatic invertebrate, and waterfowl surveys using nets, minnow traps, snorkeling, and point count techniques. Other tasks will include collecting fish and plant tissues, terrestrial insects, and bird feathers, gathering habitat data, and data entry.
