Global Wildlife Resources is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting
wildlife professionals with humane capture and handling through training &
field assistance. GWR is offering a 3-day wildlife handling course at the
Benton County Fairgrounds Carriage House in Corvallis, Oregon. This class is
one of the most extensive chemical immobilization courses in North America
and includes hand-on labs with live animals. It has been invaluable to college
students, state, federal, and tribal wildlife professionals, zoo caretakers, game
farms, animal control officers, veterinarians, and veterinary technicians.
This unique field-oriented training emphasizes professional and humane animal handling and covers practical techniques to maximize field success and human & animal safety. The course focuses on the needs of professionals to understand the skills and equipment associated with wildlife capture, physical restraint, and chemical immobilization as well as for captive and urban settings. The course also covers in detail each aspect of animal processing such as radio-collaring, ear-tagging, weighing, sample collection and patient monitoring.
