Purpose
Reporting directly to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement,
the individual in the position will provide leadership support to the
Institutional Advancement team in positioning Antioch University
Seattle (AUS) as a principal in liberal arts higher education to a
variety of internal and external audiences and media sources.
Responsibilities include managing internal and external key messages to
the benefit of the entire AUS community, students, faculty, staff,
alumni, donors and leadership volunteers; creating integrated marketing
campaigns; and managing marketing and public relations strategies that
directly support measurable increases in the following areas: awareness
of AUS within sister institutions and other audiences in higher
education in the greater Seattle area and the state of Washington,
number of prospective and confirmed enrolled students, potential
individual and foundation donors, appropriate corporate partners, and
positive print, digital and broadcast media opportunities. Also
responsible for overall AUS advertising, publications and website
content, advertising budget, web marketing efforts, and editorial
oversight of all AUS print and digital media. Serve as the lead internal
and external communications officer. Support the President and Vice
President for Institutional Advancement in communication roles as
needed.

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum ten years combined senior management, public
relations, marketing and communications experience in an organization
involving a significant number of people with diverse and varied
interests and backgrounds.
• Demonstrated success in project administration (including
budget management), strategic planning, communications planning and
management, marketing and media relations in both nonprofit and for
profit organizations.
• Demonstrated understanding of online and social media
marketing, Domain Research and Selection, Blog Platforms, Technologies
and Processes and ability to help shape core marketing focus: customer
acquisition, leads, revenue generation, branding, engagement, CRM.
Strong knowledge of content development, optimization (Blog, Articles,
Tweets, Images, Video) and how to cross promote across social web.
• Demonstrated skills in personal computer applications such as
MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint as well as design software such
as Adobe PageMaker or Quark Express and webpage software like MS Front
Page; demonstrated ability to manipulate data applications.
• Ability to independently execute projects while working in a
collaborative environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to and belief in education as a vehicle
of change in society.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative and
diverse participatory community.
