Washington Green Schools mission is to challenge students and communities to create a sustainable region through educational experiences that transform school environments. This statewide program provides K-12 educational resources and a certification program to create greener, healthier schools in Washington. The program launched statewide in 2009 and became a non-profit organization in 2011. The organization is based in Seattle.
The Program Coordinator is full-time position. Under guidance from the Co-Executive Directors, the Program Coordinator is responsible for program management and outreach, organizational support, and data management. This position offers great opportunities for professional growth and skill development.
Responsibilities include:
Program Development
Create new and revise existing educational materials with support from the Co-Executive Directors.
Contribute to the development, delivery, and evaluation of teacher trainings, student summits, and other program activities.
Work with Co-Executive Directors to achieve program goals and fulfill contracts.
School and Partner Relations
Manage relationships with participating schools through outreach and communication.
Coordinate presentation of rewards to schools, such as flags and certificates.
Support Co-Executive Directors in partner and donor communication.
Website and Data Management
Collaborate with other staff to maintain and update the website.
Manage the schools database and report and analyze trends in the data.
Lead quarterly and annual reporting on program progress and information.
Provide support for grant proposals and reporting.
Organizational Development
Attend Board meetings and retreat and record minutes at these events.
Help prepare materials for Board and Advisory Council meetings.
Maintain a clean and organized, well-supplied office environment.
Troubleshoot technical issues as appropriate.
Participate in fundraising activities.

Washington Green Schools is a small organization and all employees are expected to perform tasks outside of their job description from time to time. Evening and weekend work is sometimes required.
Desired skills/experience:
4-year degree.
Experience with science or environmental education in K-12 schools.
Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel and Powerpoint.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
Ability to work occasional nights and weekends.
Non-profit experience desirable, positive attitude and perseverance a must.
Flexible and independent worker, willing to take initiative.

Compensation range: $32,000 – $36,000 plus benefits.
