*Guided Pathways – Support for Youth and Families* (GPS) is a new King
County-based, non-profit Family Support Organization founded with the
sponsorship of the King County Mental Health, Chemical Abuse and Dependency
Services Division (MHCADSD). Our mission is:We are families helping
families. We empower and support families and youth struggling with
behavioral, emotional or substance abuse challenges in navigating resources
to achieve wellness and resilience.

The eleven-member Board of Directors is developing an operations plan and
budget and will be contracting with King County MHCADSD for funding for
services. Funding sources are expected to expand and diversify over time.
GPS will offer peer-support, education, training and advocacy for families
and youth in King County.

*The Executive Director (ED) will be a special leader*; someone who can
think strategically and with vision, is passionate about peer-to-peer
support, and has an in-depth knowledge of the systems of care in King
County. They will have had lived-experience, as a parent or kinship
caregiver of a child/youth with behavioral, mental health, or substance
abuse challenges.

As the staff leader of a new organization, they will need the experience to
develop and grow the organization including at least 5 years of
progressively responsible management experience in a non-profit
organization, with at least two years of program management and supervision
of staff. The ED must be willing to “roll-up their sleeves” and work
side-by-side with the Board, staff and parent volunteers in a collaborative
way to build a team of leaders.

The ED will have demonstrated the ability to advocate effectively for
themselves and others with strong communication and presentation skills.
They will set goals, create work plans, oversee the progress and
communicate with stakeholders. Computer literacy is a must, with the
ability to learn new applications.

*MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & SALARY: *Candidates should have a Bachelor’s
degree, 5 years progressively responsible non-profit management experience,
and lived experience as a parent or kinship caregiver of a child/youth with
behavioral, mental health, or substance abuse challenges. Relevant
experience will be considered in lieu of minimum requirements. The position
is a full-time, salaried position with some benefits. Salary will be DOE
and competitive with similar organizations.
