Job Type: Full Time

The Supervising Facilities Construction Project Specialist for Portland Parks & Recreation will oversee a small team of staff and consultants who perform construction management and engineering services for the Bureau. Currently, Parks has about $40 million in capital projects in various stages of design & construction. The Bureau has a wide range of assets and projects ranging from parks of varying size, to trails, greenways, playgrounds, culverts in natural areas, community centers, maintenance buildings, and other structures.

This is a newly created position that represents a leadership opportunity within the Bureau. Candidates for the position should be skilled in the principles and practices of construction management, have engineering knowledge, supervision experience, and previous consultant oversight responsibilities. This position also requires knowledge and experience in negotiating with other agencies, including permitting agencies such as DEQ and the Army Corps of Engineers regarding environmental clean-up, remediation, and site stabilization. The successful candidate will work on the Bureau’s larger and more complex projects and also supervise employees who also coordinate, oversee and inspect construction.
