The Portland Water Bureau (PWB) is seeking highly qualified candidates to fill the position of Groundwater Protection Program Manager. This position manages and implements PWB’s Columbia South Shore Well Field (CSSWF) wellhead protection program, coordinates City groundwater protection policy among stakeholders both internal and external to PWB, and provides assistance managing watershed protection program elements for the Bull Run watershed.
The Groundwater Protection Program Manager is responsible for managing two long-term partnership contracts to achieve outreach and education to residents and the regulated business community in the Columbia South Shore area, and two intergovernmental agreements that provide inspection services to monitor compliance with groundwater protection regulations.
To Qualify (partial list):
–Knowledge of and experience applying the advanced principles, theories, methods and techniques of watershed, groundwater, and natural resources management; and environmental protection.
–Knowledge of principles and practices of public administration, including purchasing, contracting and maintenance of public records.
–Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to groundwater and surface water resources, drinking water, public health, land use and the environment.
