This position is an environmental staff scientist in the Monitoring and Assessment Section (MAS) of the Surface Water Quality Bureau.  The purpose of this position is to plan and conduct water quality surveys. This position is responsible for conducting reconnaissance to select sample locations, coordinating with landowners and outside agencies to secure access for sampling locations and coordinating with analytical laboratory personnel to ensure that samples are analyzed in a timely manner. and will collect quality assured chemical, physical, and biological data and enter data into the databases as appropriate. This position will review and assess data for use in Clean Water Act required activities and develop protocols to standardize MAS tasks.
