Location: Willamette & Deschutes National Forests, Oregon

We are looking for a field technician for a two-year forest carnivore monitoring survey in the central Cascades of Oregon. This is a part-time paid position providing seasonal field assistance during a non-invasive monitoring study for wolverines and other forest carnivores in the Willamette & Deschutes National Forests.

The position will assist with the logistics of transporting and assembling monitoring equipment (e.g., baited camera stations) into wilderness areas and with field data collection. The successful candidate will work during the winter months and work is dependent on weather conditions. You will be expected to use snow machines on National Forest trails, snowshoe in remote mountain wilderness areas, and provide your own snowshoes and other personal winter hiking gear. Excellent physical condition is required and overnight winter camping is a possibility.

Salary:
$16/hr (no benefits); Lodging not provided (except for overnight travel).

Starting date:
Approximately November 2012 through February 2013.
