Mohave County Flood Control District is seeking applicants for a GIS technician. Job Number 15391. The GIS technician is a Senior Engineering Technician position. The job location is at the Mohave County Development Services Building in Kingman, Arizona. Primary duties will include: Provision of technical and administrative assistance for the Flood District GIS program, operation of GIS equipment, software, data, and products data management and creation, maintenance of data related to the County GIS Map Server, provide supportive mapping data and analysis upon request, and other projects and duties typically required by an Engineering Technician in the Flood Control District.
The successful applicant should have
Two (2) or more years of GIS Work experience; five or more years work experience in computerized mapping, surveying & mapping, engineering and cartographic design. With at least two (2) years of hydrology and/or floodplain experience, high school level courses in algebra, geometry and trigonometry preferably supplemented by college level course work or training in civil engineering principles and techniques OR any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications. Requires strong computer skills to include ArcGIS Suite, Autodesk, graphics, imaging, spread sheet, database software and web design and editing software. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must provide acceptable driving history at no cost to the County, and participate in continuing education, certification programs and other job-related seminars.
