The duty station for this position will be determined upon hire. Project duration is 6 May – 31 July 2013.
This position reports to the Biologist 3 responsible for the survey results. The technician serves as the primary boat captain of a 24 foot outboard powered, research vessel and member of four-person seabird field crew working along the eastern Strait of Juan de Fuca and inland waters of Puget Sound conducting at sea surveys using line transect distance sampling for marbled murrelets specifically, and also all seabirds and marine mammals encountered.
