The Youth Program Specialist will develop, promote and implement a new program that engages and involves young people in hiking, the outdoors, and public lands stewardship. Steps into Wilderness is a community partnership program that gets youth hiking and outdoors one step at a time. The position will develop and manage resources for youth organizations, conduct outdoor leadership trainings, establish a gear lending library and cultivate a support network for local schools and youth organizations. Additionally, this position will lead trail work parties, coordinate a funding assistance program, and develop outreach and website content.
