We are seeking a GIS Analyst for our Buffalo, NY office. This position will be responsible for supporting technical and non-technical clientele on a variety of diverse environmental and analytical projects. Our successful candidate must be a self-starter with a thorough understanding of a variety of spatial data types and coordinate systems and some GIS experience.
 

Support environmental data mapping and analysis for NEPA documents and planning studies

 Assist in the procurement of data (i.e., Land Use, NWI, STATSGO/SSURGO, FEMA DFIRM, NOAA ENC/RNC, etc.) via on-line data warehouses or communicating directly with data holders in project areas

 Prepare digital and hardcopy maps for E & E site activities and publications

 Perform raster and vector based analysis for reporting and decision making

 Follow QA/QC procedures to ensure that a high level of quality is achieved for all GIS-related projects, deliverables and services offered by E & E

 Coordinate technical GIS projects/tasks

 Plan and organize his/her individual work and delegate to others where appropriate

 Report on project progress and make recommendations and implement changes as needed
