StreamTeam started in 1992 and has grown to a regionally recognized volunteer environmental restoration effort of Clark Public Utilities. Since the program’s inception, volunteers from a variety of backgrounds have planted over 600,000 native trees to bring salmon back to Salmon Creek. The StreamTeam interacts with approximately 20,000 people each year through outreach and educational opportunities in the community.
The Outreach and Development Intern will assist the StreamTeam Program Coordinator in developing and implementing high quality, on-the-ground restoration and outreach activities in the Salmon Creek and East Fork of the Lewis Watersheds. Approximately 50 – 75% of the intern’s time will be spent in the office on a combination of the following: donation solicitation, program development, community event design and implementation, grant writing and reporting, volunteer recruitment and coordination, outreach, and environmental education. Approximately 25 – 50% of the time will be spent at restoration and outreach events.
Work hours and term of service:
Minimum of 10 hours per week; up to 40 hours per week, including most Saturdays. Term of internship: approximately 4 months (March – June). Potential for extended term dependent on grant funding.
