WILDLIFE CENTER COORDINATOR AND PROGRAM ASSISTANT INTERNSHIP (PAID)

The Friends of Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person to join our team for 12 months beginning in early to mid-2014. The Wildlife Center Coordination Program focuses on connecting people to nature through general public visitation, education support, and informal family-oriented activities. We believe that it is our job to nurture conservation professionals and through our internships, the Friends seeks to provide meaningful training and experiences to explore possible careers in natural resource education and conservation.

Duties will include: oversight of Wildlife Center daily operations; assisting with interpretive and education programs focused on youth; conducting outreach; coordinating volunteers; and assisting with teacher workshops and special events. Weekend work is required.

This internship is paid and includes a monthly stipend for 12 months. A completion award of will be granted after successfully fulfilling the terms of the internship. A successful completion includes fulfilling a 1,650 hour requirement during the 12-month term while maintaining a satisfactory level of performance. Housing at no charge may be available.
