This two year limited term position serves as the City of Lacey’s coordinator of economic development activities. Responsible for the recruitment and retention function for corporate and small business and serves as the primary point of contact. Plans, organizes, and performs activities to enhance economic development in Lacey. Actively develops business contacts and effectively markets the City of Lacey. Makes and implements recommendations for economic development, small business assistance, incentive programs, and permitting policies. Serves in a project manager role for major development initiatives.

The preferred candidate will have a minimum of four (4) years experience in commercial/industrial real estate or brokerage; economic development; urban and regional planning; policy development, or related field (experience in private sector economic development is strongly desirable) and the minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Marketing, Business or Public Administration, or Urban and Regional Planning OR any combination of work experience and education that allows the applicant to demonstrate an understanding of economic development and funding strategies, especially in the public sector; commercial and industrial property development; and real estate and market analysis.
