Position Summary

The Nature Conservancy’s Washington Chapter seeks an accomplished leader to serve as our Puget Sound Conservation Director to help us address the region’s most pressing conservation issues as we conserve land, water and wildlife and create a sustainable future for the Puget Sound region and beyond. The Puget Sound Conservation Director provides a visible leadership presence in the region and represents the Chapter’s interests throughout Puget Sound. S/he has overall responsibility for developing strategy, ensuring results, and managing the Puget Sound team’s internal functions. This is an outstanding opportunity to build a conservation legacy in Puget Sound, the State of Washington and around the globe.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • BA/BS degree and 7-10 years of experience in conservation practice, natural resources management, or related business or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with certain aspects of fundraising: identifying donor prospects and donor cultivation
  • Experience directing a major program of strategic importance, including management/supervision of multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience working with current trends and practices in relevant discipline(s) and regions.
  • Experience in partnership development (partners, community, government, etc.); experience with high-level conservation and/or government contacts.
