Resource Interpreter (3 positions)

Full-time Internship positions available with the BLM at Yaquina Head Natural Outstanding Area, on Oregon’s rocky shores – a great opportunity for those interested in education, interpretation, natural resources, recreation and parks.

Dates: June 15 – October 31, 2015

Duties: Explore tide pools with park visitors; describe natural history of marine mammal, birds and park features; staff the site’s interpretive center and fee collection station; lead costumed interpretation in Oregon’s tallest lighthouse; perform related administrative duties.

Compensation: $200/week stipend and free housing.

Training: Formal and on-site training provided in Interpretation and Natural History of Oregon’s Rocky Shores.

Qualifications: Demonstrated enthusiasm or experience for working with park visitors of all ages; Interest in history and costumed interpretation; Personal vehicle required (A bicycle cannot substitute); physical ability to ascend and descend stairs, and to navigate in rocky tide pools.
