Natural Areas Supervisor – Portland Metro, OR

$63,855 – $88,758 annually, plus excellent benefits
This is a limited duration position, funded through June 30, 2018
Position summary:
The Natural Areas Supervisor oversees the work of a team of natural resource technicians, specialists, leads and temporary staff. The Supervisor plans, supervises and reviews the work of assigned land management staff and coordinates and evaluates restoration and maintenance activities. The supervisor regularly communicates with non-profit organizations and other community organizations to exchange information and respond to questions and collaborates with volunteer coordinators and educators to assist in organizing and scheduling events.
Requirements:
– Some specialized training and knowledge beyond the high school level in the development, maintenance and preservation of parks and natural areas. Bachelor’s degree in biology, natural resources, horticulture or a closely related field is preferred.
– Three years of directly related experience. Experience working in the public sector is preferred.
– Two years of supervisory experience
– Any combination of experience and education that provides the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job
– This position requires driving as an essential function. Employees are required to possess a valid license.
