Crew Supervisors are responsible for directing the youths involved in the program for the duration of the three-week program. They are re-sponsible for creating a positive work atmosphere that is supportive and conducive to learning. A week’s work will include projects such as restoration and preservation of the habitats in the parks, removal of in-vasive species, landscaping, etc. Weekends involve visiting nearby his-torical and recreational attractions. Three Crew Supervisors will be as-signed to a crew of ten crewmembers. Each Supervisor will be provided with meals and housing and will receive an $1800 stipend after the suc-cessful completion of the three-week program plus a $350 travel sti-pend. This is a unique summer program held in Virginia’s award winning state parks that focuses on youth development, environmental stew-ardship, community service, and outdoor recreational opportunities.
