The International Living Future Institute (ILFI) seeks a dynamic Manager to manage the JUST program, the social justice label. The Manager will grow and expand the program nationally and work with the Living Building Challenge and Living Product Challenge program teams to incorporate social justice practices. ILFI is a dynamic, fast-growing international non-profit with offices in Portland, Oregon, Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, BC.

The JUST Manager will be responsible for growing the program including working with companies and organizations directly that are seeking a JUST label, performing outreach to organizations and expanding participation in the program. They will also develop social justice training that can be implemented across all of ILFI’s programs. The Manager will work in collaboration with the Living Product Challenge team and ILFI’s Chief Scientist, as well as with all program staff.

The successful applicant will be expected to undertake some travel to represent the organization nationally. Compensation is commensurate with experience and is supplemented by ILFI’s generous benefits package that includes health and dental insurance, Group Retirement Payroll Savings Plan with matching contributions, three weeks of paid annual leave and 12 days paid annual sick leave.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

  • Manage the day to day operations of the JUST program.
  • Work directly with companies and organizations to walk them through the JUST label application process and assist them to overcome limitations and challenges.
  • Review JUST label application materials, maintain the database of companies on the JUST website, draft and issue JUST labels.
  • Perform outreach to new companies and organizations to encourage them to participate in JUST in order to grow and expand the program.
  • Coordinate with the ILFI program team and be a resource to LBC and LCC project teams who are exploring JUST.
  • Develop and present social equity trainings that are integrated throughout ILFI’s programs.
  • Work on grant and funder deliverables and projects as needed.
  • Recruit individuals to join ILFI’s membership program.
  • Participate in seasonal sponsorship campaign efforts led by the Development team.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

  • A Bachelors and/or Masters degree in a related field.
  • 5-10 years experience with corporate social responsibility, in the social equity field or within human resources with demonstrated understanding of transforming corporate ethics.
  • Strong network and connections within the CSR community.
  • Ability to manage the content of the JUST website.
  • Public communication skills (written, verbal, public speaking, social media, press relations).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders representing different organizations, backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Proven organizational skills and project management experience.
  • Entrepreneurial, business and fundraising skills.
