Summer has arrived early in Portland! It’s the perfect time to plan ahead and improve your sustainability strategies going into 2016 — this means you should save the date for GoGreen Portland 2015 — Tuesday, October 6th! Now that the date is set, the GoGreen team needs your input to help shape the 2015 conference program. We learned a lot (and hope you did too) from last year’s program; with a continued focus on social equity and diversity, we hope to evolve GoGreen Portland to match the growing needs of our regional business community.

New 2015 Venue

We are excited to announce a new venue for GoGreen Portland 2015 — the White Stag Building located at 70 NW Couch Street in Portland’s historic Old Town Chinatown district. We chose this building as a example of leading sustainable practices:

• Convenient walking distance to Portland’s notable public transit system, in addition to car-sharing and a bike storage room.
• Member of the National Register of Historic Places and received a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification from the United States Green Building Council.
• 98% of materials salvaged from the building were diverted from landfills, and many of them were reused within the White Stag Block itself.
• White Stag Block features a rainwater catchment system, which provides water to the buildings low-flow bathroom fixtures and reduces water usage by 40%.
• The building is equipped with an energy saving heating and air-conditioning system, energy efficient lighting and makes use of day lighting to reduce electricity usage.

Call for Speakers and Proposals

Our 2014 program was our best yet thanks to your input and collaboration. We hope to continue this positive trend — contribute to the shape of this year’s conference by submitting a speaker, creative session or case study proposal for consideration. We are looking for unique and creative speakers and sessions that offer concrete tools and actionable lessons for our audience to implement into their own organizations. Case studies should highlight innovative solutions to pervasive challenges from an organizational or industry perspective.

Review and Selection Process Timeline:

• April 16, 2015 Call for Proposals issued
• June 5, 2015 Deadline for proposal submissions
• June 19, 2015 Selection decisions announced to proposing projects/partnerships
• June 26, 2015 Deadline for presenters to confirm participation
• July 10, 2015 Deadline for speaker bios and photos for event website
• October 1, 2014 Deadline for presentation files due to GoGreen
• October 6, 2015 GoGreen Portland 2015: Event Day
