The NSF supported Coasts and Communities IGERT (Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship) program at the University of Massachusetts Boston will provide fellowships to PhD students interested in pursuing research in a breadth of environmentally-focused disciplines while working collaboratively to develop and implement sustainable solutions to our most pressing environmental challenges. We expect applicants to be deeply committed to the principles of transdisciplinarity and to bring a global perspective to their work.

Fellows receive $30,000 per year for two years plus tuition waiver and health benefits. Interested individuals must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Students are eligible for consideration as a Coasts and Communities fellow upon acceptance in one of the following PhD programs:
