Stewardship Coordinator

San Francisco CAThe Stewardship Coordinator is a key member of the national stewardship team at the Trust for Public Land, responsible for delivering highly-customized donor-centric communication pieces to facilitate meaningful, lifelong relationships with donors. This position is focused on donor communication across the country and will involve coordinating with multiple offices in geographically distinct regions. Further, building relationships and positive rapport with internal and external stakeholders is critical to the success of the national stewardship program overall.

The Stewardship Communications Manager also works closely with Trust for Public Land philanthropy and marketing staff, volunteers, and senior staff leadership to ensure the successful delivery of a cohesive and consistent national stewardship program

Responsibilities:

The Trust for Public Land, a national conservation nonprofit, seeks a versatile writer/storyteller to create custom stewardship pieces to help communicate the impact of creating parks and protecting land for people.

In this role, you’ll provide research, writing, copyediting, content development, and general editorial support for a range of donor stewardship communications (web and print), including:

Managing a national pipeline of gift acknowledgements.

Writing, editing, and producing a monthly philanthropy e-newsletter.

Collection of content from various sources to communicate gift impact.

Data management and coding of stewardship communications.

Stewardship training materials for staff

The ideal candidate is additionally a personable, responsive communicator able to identify and produce compelling stories, collaborating with our diverse community partners and 30+ field offices across the country.

Experience, Education and Skills Required:

3-5 years of demonstrated professional writing and editing expertise. Knowledge of the etiquette required for philanthropic communications a plus. Candidates will be asked to perform a writing test.

Familiarity with multimedia tools and creating content for an online audience.

Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Ability to use good judgment, take initiative, prioritize, and problem solve.

Ability to function effectively as a member of a team, ensuring close coordination, professionalism, and integration with other staff members.

Ability to develop communication plans and comprehensive strategies a plus.
