Project Description:
The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission will be conducting an in-park customer satisfaction survey at 20 parks in the northwestern portion of the state (Pierce, King, Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, San Juan and Island counties) The intern would:
- coordinate and assist with training of survey volunteers,
- analyze park TraFx (vehicle counters) data to develop weekly survey schedules for each park
- conduct in-park surveys using iPads and QuickTap Survey software
Depending on interest, the intern would also have the opportunity to assist the parks management analyst with survey analysis.
Time Period: Specific internship period would depend on summer quarter/semester schedule, but the bulk of the survey work would occur from June 1 through September 9.
For more information about these opportunities, please contact Darleen Muhly, Management Analyst at Darleen.muhly@parks.wa.gov or (360) 902-8629.
Additional Volunteer Opportunities:
In addition for students who would like surveying experience but are interested in a shorter time commitment, we have smaller volunteer survey opportunities at one or more parks. Those who do not earn school credit for their work and volunteer at least 24 hours can also earn a free Discover Pass.
